The old Hove Town Hall damaged by fire in 1966.

This rather cute little video from Pathe news shows London cabbies bringing kids down to Hove for a day out by the sea in 1961.

The old Hove Town Hall was damaged by a blaze in 1966.

What is most interesting about the footage (from a Hove perspective) is that it gives us a decent glimpse of the Old Town Hall in 1961 just 5 years before it was damaged by fire. That conflagration led to its demolition and replacement by the brutalist architecture we have today. The original structure was built in 1882.
