Close to Firle, on the road towards Polegate is the charming village of Alciston and its pretty, but simple church in a beautiful setting, very close to the fascinating tithe barn. The church was founded by Battle Abbey and served a monastic farm and it still has some 11 century features remaining alongside the newer additions. The beamed ceiling is a joy.
